Workshop on HCI Research, May 2003 - 05.31.2003

[ return to gallery ]

On May 31, eleven managers and project directors from IBM, eleven RPI faculty, and four graduate students congregated in the new Social and Behavioral Research Lab (SBRL) for an all-day workshop on HCI research. LL&C faculty members Robert Krull, Bill Hart-Davidson, and Roger Grice presented synopses of current research projects, as did Selmer Bringsjord of Cognitive Science and Mike Danchak of Computer Science. IBM presented some of their recent user documentation and education projects and research needs, and Jim Watt lead a tour of the new lab.

The IBM group was coordinated by Dave Hans, an LL&C graduate and long-time IBM employee. Both IBM and the SBRL associates will continue conversations to identify common areas of research for future projects.
